One: I am a Welshman; two: I am a drunkard; three: I am a lover of the human race, especially of women.

Torchwood Radio Play
We don't have an airdate yet for the Torchwood team's adventure on Radio 4, which - and here comes the science bit - will tie in with the switch-on of the world's biggest particle accelerator in Switzerland. But a CD of the audio drama - produced by BBC Audiobooks and written by Joseph Lidster - can be pre-ordered now and will be available from 11th September 2008.
Who? What? Where?
As confirmed in this week's Radio Times (21-27 June) by Russell T Davies OBE (and congratulations to him for that, while we're at it), the Torchwood team will appear in the final story of this season's Doctor Who. Gareth had a blast filming this, so we hope you enjoy watching it.
Kiss Kiss (not Bang Bang)
Gareth (and John Barrowman, who had something to do with it too) has won the AfterElton/NewNextNow Award for Hottest Gay Kiss, for the smooch in season two Torchwood's To The Last Man. The award was voted for by readers of the website last month.
Abergavenny Gig - June 21, 2008
Gareth's band Blue Gillespie will be playing on 21st June at the Abergavenny Festival of Cycling. No, they are not the Elvis lookalikes on the event site currently.
The call of Gareth
Gareth will be signing copies of his new audio book The Call of Cthulhu at Nostalgia and Comics in Birmingham and Forbidden Planet in Cardiff on Saturday 28th June.
The Birmingham signing is from 11am to 1pm on the 28th and the Cardiff one from 4pm to 6pm the same day. Copies of The Call of Cthulhu (and his previous audio book) will be available for purchase at the stores.
Gareth Hot - It's Official
Gareth has come in at number 11 in AfterElton.com's influential poll of the Hot 100 Men of 2008.
The poll is voted for by gay and bisexual men, mainly in the US but also around the globe and shows the impact that Gareth's performance as Ianto in Torchwood is having. Fellow Torchwood star John Barrowman was number 2 - he came in behind Jake Gyllenhaal (and we're sure you can imagine the comment he made about that).
Gareth said of the result "I'm delighted to be bringing so many people pleasure in whatever way I can. I understand I'm underneath John Barrowman, which seems to happen quite a lot. Maybe, next year, Ianto can be on top."
Gareth is looking forward, more than ever now, to meeting his US fans at Comic Con in San Diego and DragonCon in Atlanta this summer, and his Canadian fans at Polaris in Toronto.
The AfterElton/NewNowNext award for Hottest Gay Kiss, which Ianto/Jack's kiss in To The Last Man is shortlisted for, will be announced next weekend - we're keeping our fingers crossed!
Blue Gillespie playing at TJ's in Newport
Gareth's band Blue Gillespie will be playing along with Disgracelands at TJ's in Newport, Wales on June 22nd.

Gareth signs on for San Diego Comic-Con
Gareth is officially on board for this year's San Diego Comic-Con International, one of America's largest comic book, science fiction and fantasy conventions. The con takes place July 24-27 in San Diego, California, and is a truly massive event; last year they had over 125,000 attendees, guests and visitors, so book your tickets in advance! Gareth will be signing autographs at Holzheimer's, which is booth number 3845 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There is a nominal charge for this.
Join Gareth at Dragon*Con
Gareth has officially signed on for his first American convention; he'll be a guest at this year's Dragon*Con in Atlanta, Georgia. The con takes place Aug. 29-Sept. 1, 2008, and is one of the largest in the country, with over 170 guests and bands already signed on for this year's event and the dealer's hall filled to capacity with booths and vendors. The latest in Torchwood
There's an interview with Gareth in Issue #5 of the Torchwood Official Magazine, due out on May 15th in the UK.
You can also pick up Torchwood series 2 on DVD; the box set will be available for sale in the UK on June 30th.
Gareth reads Lovecraft
Audiobook fans, this one's for you: Fantom Films, who previously featured Gareth's voice talents on a set of M.R. James audiobooks, have now tapped him to read H.P. Lovecraft. The collected short stories will be released in two volumes; volume one, available in June, will include Gareth's readings of "The Loved Dead" and "The Nameless City;" in volume two, available in July, he tackles "The Call of Cthulhu."
The discs also include readings by Staten Eliot and Ian Fairbairn, and are available to pre-order from Fantom Films; pre-orders of both volumes will also receive the Cult Conversations CD, which includes an audio interview with Gareth.
You can hear a sample audio clip of Gareth's reading of "The Loved Dead" at Fantom Films; clips from Gareth's readings of other audiobooks, and links to ordering information, are available on our audio page.
Help Keep The Point Alive!
Some of you may have been to The Point in Cardiff Bay - perhaps you were there to see Gareth in July and November 2007, or maybe you are going along to Sex, Wales & Anarchy on 20th April. Well, this live music venue - a gothic-style ex-church built in 1900 - is under threat of closure due to impending court action by the Council over complaints about noise from some of their new neighbours.
Gareth would like people to help save The Point because there really aren't enough live music venues in Cardiff, and he enjoys playing there himself. And let's face it, The Point has been operating as a live music venue since 2003, well before the 'neighbours' moved in!
So if you would like to help keep The Point alive, please go to www.keepthepointalive.com and sign the online petition. For more info about The Point, check out their website or MySpace page.
Message from Gareth:
"Hi everyone, I'm really looking forward to seeing some of you at Sex, Wales & Anarchy and at The Rift. Come and support us and have a good time - if we sell out, we'll be much more likely to do it again next year! It's going to be a laugh."
Torchwood Radio Play This Summer
Gareth will be lending his voice to a Torchwood radio play to be aired on BBC Radio 4 this summer; we should have a bit more news on this soon, but in the meantime you can read a short article about the play on Digital Spy.
